WOW!

That's all I can say.....really, me the one who always has something to say...well, I guess I do have a bit more to say but that one word really does sum up our last couple of days!
It has been our best "Start the Season" here at Saltbox yet.  I am always just a bundle of nerves leading up to any event but most especially this one as it really is the BIG one!
The nerves are gone, business has been more than brisk here and I am already jotting some orders to fill in some spots to get us through the season....a very good feeling for sure.
I want to take a minute to say "thank you" to all of our wonderful and loyal customers....
yesterday from as far away as Canada.  We all know that without all of you we wouldn't be who we are!  I also know that I couldn't do what I do without all the help and dedication of my team here at the Farm that make it possible for me to put it all together.
Wayne, my husband, is of course my rock, he not only encourages and reassures me he also has gotten very handy at creating lots of great items for the shop.
My grandson Trevor who is 16 and lives just through the two track is usually most eager to run over and move or push or haul things around for me when I need him.  He's going to be busy with Basketball here very soon so he won't be as available but I know he'll still be here when he can.  Really I could go on and on with this because all of my family.....Tammy, Amanda, Emma, Brother Scott, MaryK, Kate and Ry....they all help when needed and then I could go on to all the great friends.....Nancy & Cora most especially who always find time when needed....the the gals that put up with me more often....Cammy & Michelle....and now Wanda
Anyway, what we do here involves so much more than anyone can imagine and just wanted you all to know that I can think "out of the box" but I can't put it all together without you!
Sharing a picture of the work crew for this event....

Thanks Girls, YOU ROCK ")

We're getting there!

No pictures quite yet to give you a sneak peek but I can say I'm way ahead of the game!
We figure just a few more hours tomorrow to tweek things and put on some finishing touches and the shop will be ready for our
"Start the Season" Christmas Event!
It is so exciting to see it all come together like the visions that have been going through your minds for the past few weeks.  I'll have to say that things are looking even better than I imagined and we're getting it all together in record time!
I do have some of the best help ever though and we're having so much FUN!
Check back tomorrow to see a few pics....just a small sampling of course but sure to peak your interest!
Deck the halls with boughs of holly, falalalala...la la la laaaaaah!!!!

The rain has ceased.....

and it has turned quite cold.  No snowflakes in the air yet but it feels as if they won't be too far off.  Business was brisk in the shop today and most of the fall that was left went out the doors in bags to a new home.  The leftovers are all securely packed away, we've dusted and moved and dusted some more and now the shop is barren and ready to be filled to the brim with
CHRISTMAS!
I am sitting here now debating if I will head back out to start with the trees.....that's my first step, then the garlands followed by all the containers filled with the wonderful greens and berries.  It's after all this that the real fun starts though..........
hmmmmm, think maybe I'll head back out!

Rain, rain, go away....

This isn't the best picture but it's the best I could manage with the weather we're having.  This was taken off our back deck of the house looking out over our alfalfa field, well it was alfalfa but has been worked up and will be corn next year.  We have somewhat of a lake out there right now.  It has rained and rained and then rained some more!  Grandmom used to say that you wouldn't have a good snowy winter til the swamps were full...well, they're full and overflowing and I'm a bit concerned as to the amount of snow we might be in for....and I like snow!!!
On another note, just one more day of our fall clearance and we have already begun to gather it all to one corner to get a jump on things at closing time tomorrow.  We have been working diligently all this week and the trees are fluffed and lighted and we're ready to start decking the halls here at Saltbox Farm!  We have the best stuff for you and can't wait to share it all.  Next Friday, November 6....10am....the big reveal!  Hope you can join us.

Trying to stay dry.....Sharon

One more week.....

and Christmas will have arrived in full force here at Saltbox!
We have been working extra hours all this week, fluffling trees and wreaths, designing some great country florals, stamping and tagging and stamping some more.  Stitching and painting and dabbing with glue and of course pricing and pricing and pricing some more!
We have all of our remaining fall items at some really great discounts so it would be a great time to come in and take advantage of that....sorry though,
no sneak peeks at the Christmas yet....we want it all to be a surprise ")
Also a reminder that at closing time on Saturday we will not be re opening until Friday the 6th for the big event.
Lots of handmades, one of a kind florals and some great Saltbox Farm Exclusives.  We are so excited about getting started on putting it all together for you to see.....and just think, it's only ONE MORE WEEK!!

Christmas, Christmas and more CHRISTMAS!

That's what I've spent most of the last two days with.....Christmas.
Santa's, Snowmen, Trees & Wreaths
Garlands, Snowflakes, Bulbs & Stars
Oh, and did I mention GLITTER?  Everywhere there is glitter!  The Barn appears to have gone glitzy.  I think the John Deere's are even sporting a bit of glitter!
I'm normally not a lover of glitter and glitz when it comes to decor and you're probably thinking I've gone bad to the "modern" side...never fear, it just appears to be tons of glitz because I have so much Christmas and right now it's all in the Barn.
In just a bit over a week, it will all begin to make it's trip up to the shop and it's there that the magical transformation will occur.  I can picture it in my mind right now....twinkling lights, country reds, greens, mustards and blues all put together with a hint of glitz to give all of our Country Christmas offerings a more magical feel than ever.
Our "Start the Season" Christmas Event is
Friday November 6 ~ 10am ~ 7pm
Saturday November 7 ~ 10am ~ 4pm
Sunday November 8 ~ Noon ~ 4pm
The shop will be closed from November 1 thru 5 for preparation.
We hope you'll join us and start your season with
Saltbox Farm!
